Brilliance audio is an audiobook publisher, licensing and publishing audio versions simultaneously with the printed book release. Brilliance audio first entered the market in 1984 and quickly became known as the "unabridged" audiobook publisher ~ publishing only the complete book, nothing cut-out. The demand for audiobooks continues to grow each year. To better meet the growing demands of each market place (that audiobooks are sold in) brilliance audio publishes multiple imprints/versions of the same book title, sometimes in both unabridged and abridged formats. Publishing audiobooks on cassette tapes is still a viable part of our business (in 2005) however, the compact disc and MP3 compact disc formats have grown to more than 50% of our sales. Audiobook downloads are just emerging and have adopted a firm need to include digital rights management (file protection).
