EnerWorks, a London, Ontario-based company established in 1999, is a developer and manufacturer of proprietary renewable energy appliances for residential and commercial markets. The EnerWorks appliances are the world's first in home, renewable energy products that supply energy to the user for less than the cost of grid electricity-solar energy for around 4 cent US / 6 cent CAD per kilowatt hour (kWh) . All the goodness of clean energy and no emissions are a free bonus and a clean, intelligent response to issues of the Kyoto protocol.
The EnerWorks Solar Hot Water Appliances compliments existing electric, natural gas, propane, or oil water heating services, providing the users with distributed clean energy and a real reduction in the user's energy bill. Next to space heating, hot water heating is the largest single user of home energy. The appliances are distributed through plumbing and HVAC dealers, new home and renovation contractors, Home Hardware Stores, renewable energy dealers, utility service providers, and green community organizations. The EnerWorks Solar Hot Water Appliances are the first of a diverse range of solar thermal products to be offered by the company. Follow on products include integrated solar thermal / photovoltaic appliances, solar assisted heat pumps, solar space and pool heating, and solar cooling. The solar hot water appliances will be scaled up to provide the same benefits to commercial users of hot water in operations like food service, hospitality, multi family accommodation, car washes, community centre particularly with pools, laundries and agriculture, particularly dairy farms, industrial processes, and government buildings.
