Introduce:

United Mining Industries Company Limited (UMI) is a Saudi Arabian joint-venture of three of the GCCs leading companies in the construction and building materials industry. UMI was formed to manufacture high quality gypsum products for use in local and regional markets and to provide economical product solutions for residential and commercial developments.

Our captive raw material source, low energy costs and central location in the Middle East enable us to provide the construction industry with a variety of low cost, high quality gypsum products virtually on demand.

In addition to our dedicated quarries, our facilities include a 114,000 m2 facility in Yanbu which is home to our head office, gypsum powder plant, gypsum board plant, warehouse and support facilities.

GYPSUM PRODUCTS

1-Flash Plaster(brown bag)
Flash plaster is ideal for gypsum board and tiles due to its high quality and low cost. In contrast to similar products manufactured from gypsum produced using a rotary calcination process, UMIs modern, fully automated flash calcination process and advanced grinding equipment designed by Claudius Peters of Germany ensures narrow particle size distribution (PSD) and hence, greater product strength.

2-High-Grade Plaster (white bag)
UMI achieves the highest plaster quality through Claudius Peters Kettle Indirect Calcination. This superior calcination process takes advantage of narrow particle size distribution (PSD) attributed to the advanced grinding equipment and increases product strength through kettle calcination. Despite the similarity in setting time (614- minutes) with gypsum manufactured using the traditional rotary calcining process which employs direct firing, kettle plaster exhibits greater strength and lower water demand. The kettle calcination process is slower than flash calcination or rotary calcination and produces homogenous, well-shaped crystals that are lower in BET surface and have high grain stability. 3-Gypsum Board Products
UMIs gypsum board plant is the largest in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is capable of producing high quality gypsum board in a variety of types and sizes. The complete line of products is characterised by ultra bending strength, ultra bonding strength between the paper and core, a smooth and uniform surface and comparatively light weight. The products can be used in a wide range of applications, including wall partitions, wall lining and ceilings.
